  • How Can Functional Nutrition Help You?

How Can Functional Nutrition Help YouDid you know that only about 60% of Americans view dieticians in a constructive light? Comparatively, only 51% of Americans view nutrition researchers positively.

It’s not surprising—after all, it’s difficult to know whether a source is reliable or not. Unfortunately, this often leads to Americans making poor dietary choices due to misinformation.

However, there are plenty of scientifically-backed nutritional methods that can help you improve your wellbeing. Functional Nutrition is one of the increasingly popular concepts that many holistic practitioners use to aid their patients.

But what is Functional Nutrition? And how can it help you? Keep reading below as we fill you in on everything you need to know about Functional Nutrition benefits.

    Eliminates the Guessing Game

Unfortunately, ads on Instagram have convinced many people that if they take a special gummy vitamin or supplement, they’ll be able to eat whatever they want and maintain a healthy lifestyle. However, this is far from the truth. Not only do social media platforms and tabloids push these “magic pills,” but they also recommend various diet plans to help users achieve their health goals.

People often grow disheartened when a specific meal or diet plan doesn’t deliver on what they promise. This is because diets are not a one-size-fits-all formula.

Functional Nutrition approaches one’s diet holistically, and it takes into account things like a person’s activity levels, mental health, medical history, etc.

By using Functional Nutrition, you won’t have to sample a plethora of nutrition plans to see what works for you. Instead, we develop a personalized plan just for you based on all the data we gather.

    Lessens Gut Irritability

If you suffer from IBS or other gut/bowel problems, Functional Nutrition can greatly benefit you. It works to help you from eating foods that may cause irritability and instead pushes foods that improve gut flora and health. We know that gut health is very important in many ways, including immune function. Let’s keep your gut happy!

    Leaves You More Satisfied

Many of us subscribe to the idea that we need to eat three large meals each day. However, Functional Nutrition will look at the best way to approach food and nutrients according to your body.

Because Functional Nutrition is based on objective data we obtain directly from your body, we can personalize the recommendations. This means you will know exactly which nutrients your body needs more of and which nutrients you don’t. Getting all of your body’s building blocks met makes your body feel more satisfied, enabling you to keep up your mental and physical energy at its highest level.

Discover the Power of Functional Nutrition

It’s essential to tailor your healthcare around your personal needs. Utilizing a diet based on Functional Nutrition is a great way to take care of your body, and it’s a stepping stone for creating other healthy behavioral changes.

  • What You Need to Know About Neurofeedback Therapy For Children

Neurofeedback TherapyIs your child battling at school? Do they struggle to maintain concentration? Is it affecting their confidence?

There’s no doubt that life for today’s children is much more challenging than it was for us parents. Not only is there far more pressure to perform well at school, but there are added social and emotional issues to deal with too. This, coupled with the fact that our diets are compromised of processed or genetically modified foods and poor nutrition, makes it almost impossible to cope effectively.

We want the best for our children, which is why so many parents are choosing to explore neurofeedback therapy

What are the benefits of neurofeedback, and how can it help your child? Let’s find out.

    What is Neurofeedback Therapy?

In short, neurofeedback therapy is a method of training the brain to behave in a certain way.

It is a non-invasive procedure whereby electrodes placed on the scalp read electrical signals from the brain. They are then attached to an electroencephalogram (EEG), which reads and translates these impulses.

While techniques vary, a typical neurofeedback session will involve visual stimuli to which the individual responds. For example, the patient could be shown a movie that will only play while the EEG receives certain signals from the brain. When these fade, so does the movie. This prompts the brain to refocus to allow the movie to continue playing.

In the simplest of terms, neurofeedback offers real-time reinforcement of positive brain responses such as concentration and focus.

How Can Neurofeedback Therapy Help My Child?

Sadly, more children than ever are diagnosed with ADHD, and many will suffer from additional mental or emotional disorders such as anxiety, depression, or behavioral problems. While medication can offer short-term help, it’s not always the preferred choice for parents who want to treat the cause and not just the symptoms.

Neurofeedback therapy for children tackles the way their brain works on a foundational level. It helps to establish individual patterns of thinking and control that stay with the child.

This treatment is much like learning to ride a bicycle. Nobody can tell you how to balance; this is something that you have to feel and experience first-hand. Once these neural pathways have been established in the brain, however, they are there to stay.

In the same way, neurofeedback therapy assists with ADHD management by training the brain to function calmly and efficiently. Your child is able to process information better. This impacts their behavior, improves overall brain function, and decreases negative behaviors.

    Neurofeedback Therapy Near Me

Neurofeedback therapy is a big topic, and we’re sure that you have questions about how it can benefit you and your family.

  • A Quick Guide to Neurofeedback For Anxiety

A Quick Guide to Neurofeedback For AnxietyIf you have struggled with anxiety for a while and are looking for a treatment that doesn’t involve prescription medication, you may want to check out neurofeedback. Neurofeedback for anxiety can be an effective treatment.

Interested in learning more about how this treatment can improve your quality of life? Keep reading!

    What Is Neurofeedback Therapy?

Neurofeedback therapy involves changing any abnormal brain waves into healthy ones.

While the method was developed over 50 years ago, modern medical equipment makes it possible to track what brainwaves need to be changed.

Brainwaves are monitored and then provided with an audio or video feedback signal. Through this method, it is possible to train a brain with anxiety to regulate stress more easily. The feedback diminishes the pattern of stressors and anxiety attacks that often inhibits those with anxiety in their day-to-day life.

Neurofeedback For Anxiety: Does It Work?

Medication is accessible and can be helpful for people. However, if a person is looking to get to the root cause of their anxiety, medication cannot do that, and then neurofeedback for anxiety might be the right choice.

While conditions like anxiety and depression can be felt all over the body, they start in the brain. Your brain is experiencing under-arousal or over-arousal in different areas. There are irregular patterns, and they cause the fight-or-flight response to occur unnecessarily in the form of anxiety attacks.

Providing feedback for your brain helps you develop healthier responses to stressors and triggers, which trains your brain away from the pattern of anxiety attacks so that you can live life to the fullest.

The Effects Of Neurofeedback As An Anxiety Treatment

Neurofeedback is non-invasive and free of pain. It is also a treatment that is specifically tailored to your brain! Everyone is different, so everyone experiences different results. Here are some of the benefits and side effects of this treatment.

    Benefits Of Neurofeedback For Anxiety

Neurofeedback is especially beneficial for people who have had bad experiences with medication. It can also help those who are historically unresponsive to medication. It also provides benefits to people as a supplement to their current course of treatment.

Finally, neurofeedback for anxiety is perfect for people who want a more natural and usually permanent course of treatment that gets to the root cause of the problem and leads to a healthier life.

Side Effects Of Neurofeedback For Anxiety

As you go through your neurofeedback therapy, you may experience some side effects. You may feel headaches or pressure in your head. You may also feel sluggish, tired, or have brain fog. This is because neurofeedback is like a workout for your brain, and it is trying to develop a new, healthier neuropathway. In most people, the side effects are usually mild to non-existent.

Interested In Learning More About Neurofeedback?

Are you interested in exploring neurofeedback for anxiety? This treatment can reduce your need for medication and other therapies! By training your brain away from the irregular patterns that cause anxiety and panic, you can develop new thought patterns and a healthier way of living.

  • 4 Amazing Benefits of Neurofeedback

    Four Amazing Benefits of Neurofeedback

Are you struggling with anxiety, depression, or insomnia? Or perhaps you’re having chronic pain? Before popping pills, look for safer, more effective options to manage your symptoms and feel like yourself again.

For example, you could try neurofeedback. This non-invasive therapy has been proven effective in the treatment of ADHD, PTSD, anxiety, sleep disorders, and more. Other potential benefits of neurofeedback include better sleep and mental clarity.

In one study, neurofeedback improved attention and reduced the need for medications in children with ADHD. Other studies suggest that it may help with depression, age-related memory loss, or even brain injuries. Plus, it reduces stress and promotes relaxation.

But how does neurofeedback work? Most importantly, is it right for you? Let’s take a closer look at its key benefits!

    Neurofeedback May Reduce Anxiety

This form of therapy aims to help your brain function more efficiently. Its health benefits range from pain relief to a better mood.

Neurofeedback has also emerged as one of the best ways to treat anxiety due to its ability to retrain the brain. In a clinical trial, subjects reported significant improvements in anxiety symptoms in just three months of treatment.

For some people, neurofeedback can be an alternative to anxiolytics and other medicines. Most patients notice positive changes in their mood and behavior after just three to five sessions.

    It May Improve ADHD Symptoms

A growing number of health professionals are using neurofeedback to treat ADHD, a disorder that affects more than 6.1 million children in the U.S.

This form of treatment is much safer than medications and can benefit people of all ages. Plus, it’s pain-free and has few or no side effects.

Clinical evidence shows that neurofeedback may reduce impulsivity, inattention, and hyperactivity. These symptoms are often associated with ADHD, making it challenging to stay focused.

    You May Experience Better Sleep

Neurofeedback also holds promise as a potential treatment for insomnia. This non-invasive therapy causes positive changes in sleep patterns while reducing stress and anxiety. As a result, it may help you fall asleep faster and wake up feeling refreshed.

The treatment can benefit those struggling with nightmares, sleep terrors, or restless leg syndrome. Moreover, it may help reduce or eliminate the need for sleeping pills.

Neurofeedback Can Boost Creativity and Brainpower

Stress and everyday worries can affect your creativity and mental focus, and sleep deprivation only makes things worse. By addressing these issues, neurofeedback may improve cognitive performance and help you function optimally.

For example, a 2014 study found that children who underwent this treatment had significant improvements in creativity and communication skills. As the researchers note, this form of therapy may also enhance academic performance.

The benefits of neurofeedback don’t end here, and this treatment also holds promise for those with dementia, epilepsy, and mood disorders. Plus, neurofeedback training can be used along with other therapies to increase their efficiency.

  • Neurofeedback Therapy ADHD: Can It Really Help?

Neurofeedback Therapy ADHD Can It Really HelpAre you struggling with ADHD? An estimated three percent of adults around the world live with ADHD.

But, there are treatments you can use to make your everyday life a little easier. Read on to find out all about neurofeedback therapy for ADHD, the benefits, and how it can help you.

    What is Neurofeedback Therapy?

abigail doing neurofeedback trainingNeurofeedback therapy has been around for more than thirty years, so it’s a tried and true form of therapy for many different conditions. Neurofeedback therapy is a type of treatment where an EEG monitors a patient’s brainwaves while you do an activity.

Sensors will be attached to your head so that the machine can gauge your brainwaves. Before you start, your practitioner will ask you what your concerns are, how you’re looking to change your behavior and how you feel your brain works.

You’ll answer some baseline questions so that the practitioner can get an idea of where you’re starting from. Then, a brain map will be performed to see how your brainwaves are working. After the brain map, the practitioner will report what is going on with your brain, can neurofeedback help reduce symptoms, and how long it will take to improve. Next, it’s time to begin treatment. You will be hooked up to the EEG and watch a show on a screen. Over time, your brain will learn and create new and healthier neuropathways.

Neurofeedback therapy is used to treat a wide variety of different conditions, not just ADHD. These include depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, other behavioral disorders, and so many others.

How Does Neurofeedback Therapy Help With ADHD?

Neurofeedback therapy can help increase your brain’s ability to focus, which is super helpful for people with ADHD. This will help you be better able to stay on task, which can help adults in the workplace and kids in school.

If you’re struggling with impulse control, neurofeedback therapy training can help you overcome the problems, so you stop making poor decisions, like substance abuse or overeating.

Neurofeedback therapy is especially beneficial for children since their brains are still making pathways and developing. However, adults see excellent results as well!

Neurofeedback therapy does take some time to show lasting results, sometimes over thirty sessions. However, many people start noticing changes sooner than this. In addition, the lack of side effects can make it an excellent option for people who struggle with ADHD.

And, it makes for a wonderful complement to other forms of treatment. If you want to reduce your reliance on ADHD medications and not worry about significant/upsetting side effects, you should definitely consider trying neurofeedback therapy for ADHD.
