Getting started

How does getting started work?

It starts with a free call. You tell Dr. Dody what’s going on, he explains how the practice works and whether it’s likely to be a fit, and you decide whether to come in. Nothing is booked or charged on the call.

  1. Step 1: A free call with Dr. Dody

Tell him what’s been going on. He’ll ask questions, explain how he works, and tell you honestly if he doesn’t think the practice is the right fit.

    Book your call
  2. Step 2: A thorough first visit

If you decide to come in, your first visit includes a qEEG brain map, nerve scans and a full exam, followed by a plain-language walk-through of what was found.

    What the first visit includes
  3. Step 3: A plan you decide on

Dr. Dody lays out the options, and what they cost, before anything is scheduled. There’s no package to sign up for on day one.

What we help with

What do people come to Dody Chiropractic for?

Usually something that has been going on for a while: trouble focusing, a mind that won’t settle, sleep that doesn’t restore, a head injury that lingers, or pain that keeps coming back. We help you look at how your nervous system is working and explore what might help.

Our approach

Why chiropractic, neurofeedback and nutrition under one roof?

Because the brain and the spine are not separate systems. They are one nervous system. Dr. Dody’s view, and the idea the whole practice is built on, is that it makes sense to look at all of it before deciding what to do.

That doesn’t mean everyone needs everything. Some people come only for chiropractic care, some only for neurofeedback. The first visit is there to work out what actually makes sense for you.

Meet your doctor

Dr. Michael Dody, DC

A sports injury, and the chiropractic care that helped him recover from it, is what led Dr. Dody into the profession. After opening his Littleton practice in 2003, he grew curious about why some patients plateaued despite good spinal care. That question led him to neurofeedback, and then to qEEG brain mapping.

Today he looks at every new patient’s brain map himself, explains it in plain language, and is direct about what he thinks will help and what won’t.

Questions people ask before they call

Straight answers. If yours isn’t here, ask it on the free call.

What is brain-based chiropractic?
It’s chiropractic care that treats the spine as part of the nervous system rather than as a set of joints. At Dody Chiropractic, adjustments use the gentle, instrument-based Koren Specific Technique (KST): no cracking and no twisting. Care is guided by nerve scans and a full exam. More about our chiropractic care.
Is a qEEG brain map a diagnosis?
No. A qEEG brain map is an assessment. It measures patterns of electrical activity in the brain and compares them with an age-matched database. It does not diagnose ADHD, anxiety, depression or anything else; only a licensed clinician can do that. What it does is give Dr. Dody and you a measurement to work from instead of a guess. How brain mapping works.
Do you take insurance?
We’re a cash-pay practice, so we don’t bill insurance or file claims. HSA and FSA cards are welcome, and you’ll get an itemized receipt you’re free to submit yourself. It isn’t that we’re outside your network. There isn’t a network for this kind of care.
Do I need to stop my medication?
No, and please don’t change anything on your own. Decisions about medication belong to you and your prescribing doctor. Chiropractic, neurofeedback and nutrition do different jobs, and many people we see continue the care they already have.
