What parents and patients are saying
“ADHD medications caused severe side effects — stuttering, sleeplessness, emotional outbursts. After just 10 neurofeedback sessions, he stopped stuttering, slept better, and could finally focus. Now he thrives in school and manages his emotions independently. It’s a real, lasting solution, not just a Band-Aid.”

Why ADHD is a Brain Pattern Problem — Not a Willpower Problem
ADHD is not a character flaw or a discipline issue. It’s a measurable neurological pattern. Children and adults with ADHD consistently show too many slow-wave (theta and delta) brainwaves and too few fast-wave (beta) brainwaves in the regions responsible for attention, focus, and impulse control.
Medication works by chemically forcing the brain into a more alert state — but it doesn’t change the underlying pattern. When the medication wears off, the pattern returns. Neurofeedback works differently: it shows the brain its own activity in real time and rewards it for producing healthier patterns. Over 20–40 sessions, the brain learns. The changes stick — even after treatment ends.
The American Academy of Pediatrics has classified neurofeedback as a Level 1 “Best Support” intervention for ADHD — the same evidence tier as medication — based on decades of clinical research.
What We See on a QEEG Brain Map in ADHD
Before we train a single session, we map the brain. Our 20-channel QEEG assessment measures electrical activity across the entire cortex and compares it against a normative database of healthy brains. In ADHD, the map typically reveals excess theta and delta activity in the frontal lobes — the brain’s “executive office” responsible for planning, focus, and self-regulation.
This map becomes the foundation of your personalized protocol. We’re not guessing which frequencies to train — we know exactly where the brain needs support. This precision is what separates results-focused neurofeedback from one-size-fits-all approaches.
What Patients Experience After Neurofeedback
- Improved focus and sustained attention
- Reduced hyperactivity and impulsivity
- Better emotional regulation and frustration tolerance
- Improved working memory

- Better sleep quality
- Reduced anxiety that often accompanies ADHD
- Decreased reliance on stimulant medication
- Improved academic and work performance
The Dody Difference: Brain + Spine, Together
Most neurofeedback clinics treat the brain in isolation. At Dody Chiropractic Center for Wholeness, Dr. Dody is uniquely qualified as both a licensed chiropractor and a certified neurofeedback specialist with over a decade of clinical experience. This matters because the nervous system doesn’t stop at the brainstem. Spinal dysfunction can interfere with the brain’s ability to regulate itself — and vice versa.
By combining targeted neurofeedback with gentle brain-based chiropractic adjustments (KST technique, using the ArthroStim instrument — no cracking or twisting), we address ADHD from both the top down and the bottom up. Many of our patients see faster, more lasting results than those who’ve tried neurofeedback at standalone clinics — because we’re treating the whole nervous system, not just one part of it.

Frequently Asked Questions
How many sessions does it take to see results?
Most patients begin noticing changes between sessions 8 and 15. Meaningful, lasting improvement typically requires 20–40 sessions depending on severity and individual response. A full QEEG brain map is repeated at the midpoint to verify progress objectively.
Can neurofeedback replace ADHD medication?
Many patients use neurofeedback as an alternative to medication, and many others use it alongside medication with a goal of eventually reducing dosage under their prescribing doctor’s guidance. We do not advise stopping any medication without working with your physician, but we do work with many patients who prefer a drug-free path from the start.
What age do you work with?
We welcome patients from age 5 through adults of any age. ADHD in adults is frequently under-treated — many adults were never diagnosed as children but have been struggling for decades. Neurofeedback is equally effective across the lifespan.
Does insurance cover neurofeedback?
Most insurance plans do not cover neurofeedback. However, HSA and FSA accounts can be used for neurofeedback services. We also work with patients on payment plans. Please call us to discuss your specific situation — we want to make this accessible.
Is neurofeedback safe for children?
Yes. Neurofeedback is non-invasive — sensors only read brain activity, they never send any electrical signal to the brain. There are no drugs, no side effects, and no discomfort. Children typically find the sessions enjoyable because they watch a movie or video game that responds to their brain activity.
