Nerve Pain Relief
Understanding Sciatica
Sciatica occurs when the sciatic nerve, the largest nerve in your body, is compressed or irritated. This typically happens at the lumbar spine where nerve roots exit between vertebrae, or at the sacroiliac joint where the pelvis meets the spine. Symptoms include shooting or burning pain down the leg, numbness, tingling, weakness in the affected leg, and pain that worsens with sitting.
The most common causes include lumbar disc herniation or bulging, spinal stenosis (narrowing of the spinal canal), piriformis syndrome (where the piriformis muscle compresses the nerve), sacroiliac joint dysfunction, degenerative disc disease, and spondylolisthesis (vertebral slippage).
Many sciatica patients are told that surgery is their only option, or are prescribed pain medication and muscle relaxants that only mask symptoms without addressing the structural cause. At Dody Chiropractic, we take a different approach.

“As of today, I can honestly say that I am pain free in the lower part of my body. Both bottoms of my feet hurt, both hips were compensating. Once he started doing KST Treatments I noticed my visits were not so demanding. Exercise is now a staple in my lifestyle.”

Our Approach to Sciatica
Dr. Dody uses CLA INSiGHT nerve scans to pinpoint the exact level of nerve interference causing your sciatic symptoms. The thermal and EMG scans reveal not just where the problem is, but how severely it is affecting your nervous system function. This objective data guides treatment and allows us to track your progress over time.
KST chiropractic adjustments with the ArthroStim instrument deliver precise, low-force corrections to the lumbar spine and sacroiliac joint. Because KST analyzes you in the position of distress, Dr. Dody can identify and correct issues that are only present when you are standing, bending, or in the position that triggers your pain.
Most sciatica patients experience significant improvement within the first few weeks of care. We also address contributing factors like pelvic imbalance, core weakness, muscle tightness, and postural habits that may be perpetuating the problem. For chronic sciatica with a neurological pain component, neurofeedback therapy can help retrain the brain’s pain processing pathways.
